Question: Why is the championship in Fargo?
According
to Minnesota state law, no more than $200 worth of cash
or prizes can be given away in a single free-play Texas
Holdem tournament.
Therefore, we have decided to hold our championship
event in a jurisdiction where there is no limit on the
amount of prizes that can be given away. While the
drive is inconvenient for many (especially in the
south-eastern section of the state, we assure our
players that it is worth it!
The site for the tournament is at The
Venue at The Hub, a truly awesome site with 2 levels and
multiple bars. Formerly known as Playmakers, The
Hub underwent a complete overhaul in November of 2007
and now has 7 different bars and themes under one
enormous complex. Great food, great atmosphere,
and great service! The Hub is a perfect venue for
our championship tournaments and many players have told
us they look forward to coming back to Fargo for future
championship events.
