St. Louis Park Resident Jason Senti Makes WSOP's November Nine
He might be the shortest stacked player when the final nine gather in November for this year's World Series of Poker Main Event Championship, but St. Louis Park, MN, resident Jason Senti’s decision to quit an electrical engineering job to become a full-time poker player certainly seems to have paid off, especially considering he beat out a field of more than 7,300 players and is guaranteed to take home at least $811,823!
Jim Buchite Cashes in WSOP
There were 3,844 entrants into the WSOP event number 54. After day one a&b, Jim was one of the chip leaders in 18th place with 586 remaining. In the end Jim ended up in 113th place winning $3,182. Jim won this whole experiance and the money all from playing Free Poker! Congratultions Jim!
Josh Barnes Becomes First Two-Time Online Champ!Last Sunday, May 23rd, was a crazy busy poker day for our latest Destination Las Vegas Champion Josh Barnes, who used to play out of the Sherwood Lounge in St. Paul, MN, before he moved to a suburb of Minneapolis. It all started bright and early Sunday morning at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN, where he took a seat in the Minnesota State Poker Championship. The buy-in was $1,000 with the first place winner set to recieve nearly $24,000. After hours of play, Josh ended up going out in around 40th place, beating almost 100 other players but leaving behind his buy-in and hopes at the grand prize.

Jim Buchite from the 50 Lakes Bar & Grill in Fifty Lakes, MN had a heck of a run at this years World Series of Poker. Jim was one of the six Minnesota Poker League winners back in May at Shooting Star Casino that all won a $1,000 WSOP buy-in to event number 54, airfare, and hotel accomodations on the strip in Las Vegas.
This past weekend at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN, six Minnesota Poker League players won their way to the 2010 World Series of Poker! Each one will play in Event #54 while also competing in the FPN National Championship where the winner will be crowned the new National Champion and play in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event! The lucky winners (pictured front row left to right) were Tomi Hamilton from Trackside in Wadena, Nels Peterson from Ultimate Sports Bar in Waite Park, Jon Stern from 50 Lakes Bar in Emily, (back row left to right) Bill Long from Courtney's Comedy Club & JC's Corral in Moorhead and Dilworth, Jim Buchite from 50 Lakes Bar in Emily, and Kevin Rouser from the Whistle Stop Tavern in Lonsdale.
